Fall in Ellensburg

Owen is enjoying his ability to crawl and pull up and is exploring everything...he likes peeking out our window next to the front door as well as looking out the back porch window. His trusty exploring companion of choice this month is the green dinosaur. The picture of Owen in his pj's shows how he holds and guides the dino by the next on their adventures together and so the poor little neck has become a bit flimsy but they still go adventuring together!
Owen has also decided he likes kitchen utensils and his favorite was the spatula until yesterday. We had to take it away when Ken swiped it away from Owen just in time to prevent a spatula handle in the back of the throat as Owen was chewing it and began to fall forward. Bye-bye spatula!
So the 9 month update at the dr. revealed that Owen is 16 1/2 lbs. and is 30 in long! He is strong and has 2 top teeth. He just had his first ear infection and is thankfully doing much better after a week of whining :). Another worth-mentioning happening is how impossible it is to change Owen's diaper or dress him without incident. And that means without him arching his back, screaming, flopping off the changing table, crawling all over the floor, and in general, an extreme dislike on his part for being stuck on his back and not doing what he wants (which is anything but being there at that time).
Most days he is a super happy little guy who loves his daddy and enjoys going after the cats. He is getting very chatty and eats cereal and chews on his crackers and is learning what a sippy cup is. He likes going on walks and is getting more and more bundled up as the weather gets windy and cooler. We have only lost one sock so far - all the shoes have been recovered from the walks and we have not had one blanket kicked all the way off yet!
